Bumpers - not stickers

I own an 1983 Audi Coupe GT.
It has the standard thin bumpers for the year.
I would like to replace them with the bigger bumpers.
Is this easy?
Does anyone on the list know where to get some apart from a main dealer?
(I live in High Wycombe, 30 miles west of London, UK)
Is this considered okay practice - or might I as well stick a neon antenna
to my roof and surfing stickers to my windscreen?
