Electrical gremlins

The patient is a 92 100Q wagon - 

Symptoms - started with the brake pad warning symbol going on when it
felt like it - pads are fine.  Now the headlights also go off without
warning, as do the wipers.  These happen after car is thoroughly warm,
but one day the windows wouldn't work when the car was completely cold. 
Stopping and turning car off for 3 - 5 minutes brings back functioning
headlights and wipers.  I believe the light for the radio also went out
on one of these episodes.

It's been at the shop now for a week and they can't reproduce the
symptoms to troubleshoot it.
