MB owners - a question

(We're still trying to debug John Robinson's problems.)

We found a difference today in the vacuum hose layout.

My car has the computer line and the line to the rear differential attached to
the inlet manifold via two parallel ports on a pipe projecting from the upper
(throttle-regulated) part of the manifold. The 'boost' takeoff that goes to
the wastegate control valve is taken from the lower part of the manifold, below
the ISV - where it is not throttle-regulated.

On John's (later) car, this latter point has a rubber cap over it, obviously
fitted in the factory. The 'boost' takeoff for the wastegate control valve is
derived from a 'Y' fitting in the line to the rear differential.

If any MB owners could take a look and send me an email with how it's done on
their car and their chassis number? Was the same change made on NA engines at
some point? Why was it done?
