No voltage to my fuel pump?
Hi All,
I just replaced the fuel pump on my '86 5kcs because after taking off
the filter and cranking it, I got no fuel coming out of the fuel line.
However, now that I have a brand spankin' new fuel pump, I still can't
get any fuel coming to my filter. So I checked all my fuses under the
hood (are there anymore than the ones under hood by drivers side
window?) and they all looked good.
Then I disconnected the harness that goes to the fuel pump (in the
trunk) and checked for voltage, while the wife cranked the engine.
Zero, zilch, nada! Anybody know of any other fuse for that circuit? I
know there is not supposed to be any voltage with the ignition on/engine
off, but it is my understanding that during cranking and engine running,
there should be at least 11.5v. Any ideas?
TIA,
Joel Richardson
