I have in my greedy little hands a reprint of auto motor und sport (8/95)
Audi A4 (1.8) crash test results in which they evaluated/ compared:
(dummy data)
driver head injury criterion (HIC)
passenger head injury criterion (HIC)
resulting driver/passenger head acceleration
driver/passenger head pitch angle
resulting driver/passenger chest deceleration
resulting driver/passenger pelvis deceleration
driver upper leg force
passenger upper leg force
driver belt force
passenger belt force
(vehicle data)
total deformation distance
dash panel horizontal and vertical displacement
pedal horizontal and vertical displacement
contraction of passenger cell
distance of A/B pillar
change in wheelbase
lock opening force
door opening force
The comparison was between the A4, BMW 3-series, Ford Mondeo, Mercedes
C-class and the Saab 900.
Crash results: Overall injury risk: low. Deformation: slight.
Opening of driver's
door: easy.
"In comparison tests....the new A4 effortlessly took the top place in its
class,
despite having to surpass more than capable competitors of the BMW
3-series
or the Mercedes C-class."
If anyone knows where NCAP tests could be found I would be very
interested
to see the results of those tests too....
