'87 5KCST, backup light switch

Don't laugh...

My backup lights don't work, (havn't since I botu the car) so I am trying
to find the backup light switch, and can't. Bently shows it in the
schematic. I have the automatic, and assume it would be near the shift
lever, but can't identify it. Mechanical section of the manual shows pieces
and parts of linkage and tranny, but does not point out backup light
switch. Can anyone help me locate it?

Did check the fuse and bulbs. Any other suggestions welcome, now that the
days are getting shorter and backups would be nice...
