possible DSM convert
Hey all...I am new to the list and I have a couple questions for you all...
presently I own a 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi... 2.0L turbocharged and currently
has about 280hp
I have owned three DSM's (diamond star motors) so far... a 1994 Mitsubishi
Eclipse GS, A 1992 Eagle Talon Tsi, and my present 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi..
I've loved every single one of these cars...the capability of these cars
are crazy...
one of these cars.. a 1991 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD just ran a 10.98 1/4 at 124mph
SOOO... my purpose of subscribing to this mail list and posting is that I
have been looking at an 1997 Audi a4 Quattro 1.8t and have been looking at
various web sites on the capabilities of these cars....so I have a few
questions for u all..
#1. Is the All Wheel Drive train in the a4 capabile of high HP? like
300-400hp? Or do they have problems as DSM's do?
#2. I heard of problems with audi's blowing head gaskets alot with added
HP. is this true?
#3. Can an Audi handle being revved to 5k and launching? as in drag racing?
or is it only strong enough for high speed driving?
#4. How does the 1.8L engine handle large amounts of HP?
#5. What type of turbo-charger comes stock on a 1997 Audi a4 1.8T?
I thank you all in advance for answering these questions...I am very
interested in the new a4 and would like to see what their
strength/weaknesses are before I decide on purchasing one...
thank you all again...

currently a DSM owner, perhaps an a4 turbo AWD in my future...
