Re: spin direction on tires

Not in favor? And Still current? When I had my '87 5kcstqwagon I ran through
two sets of VR Gatorbacks...LOVED them!!!! I got over 30k per set (very
aggressive driving), had few balance problems. I rotated front to rear/rear
to front. So, while they are perhaps dated by today's standards they are
great tires IMO. Now, the bad news is that in my search for tahrs for my new
baby (same year, same car...sedan this time), I find that Goodyear in all
their eternal wisdom has discontinued all sizes of VR Gatorbacks except those
which were o.e. on Mustangs, Probes, etc. :-( The only tires they even offer
in a size for a 5ktq (205 or 215 60/15) are crap and HR rated at best. I
(like many CART teams it seems) have now given up on Goodyear for this
reason. There are many great choices still for VR rubber in our sizes...but
Goodyear doesn't see fit to offer any. These types of tread patterns indeed
do need to turn the right way...it is amusing to see all the backwards ones
on various cars.
