ME TOO, with the following proviso . . .
Having been involved in export of computers from the mid-80s til 1996,
I've had more than my fair share of run-ins with Unka Sam's Customs and
Export Enforcement. Enough to know that a group purchase and subsequent
shipment can be a problem if the import is NOT DOT approved gear. You
run the very real risk of having the shipment confiscated by Customs and
sold at auction (for immediate export out of the US).

If this idea catches on, I'd be happy to call (off-the-record) two of my
contacts to get some recommendations.

PS - Future of the qlist - I'm in for up to a c-note/yr, plus any techno
help I can contribute. And a suggestion on acquiring equipment: set-up
a computer reseller group/corp or something so product/software can be
purchased through distribution channels - yes folks, distributors carry
up to DEC alpha.
