Mechanics in GA??

   Elliot,

I just moved from the Atlanta area this past year. The dealer (Jim Ellis)
is very competent, but also very expensive. I used to use a shop called
Check Point Auto (still around), but left there after my mechanic, Grant
Neirling left. I then switched to Specialized Import Services and I had good
luck with them. They are great mechanics and know quattros pretty well, but
just before I left I noticed my last two repair bills were sky HIGH! Like,
equal or more than the dealer!!! Up till then they had been very reasonable.
I think they have gotten more expensive though. But they are pretty good.
Now both of these places (Check Point and SIS) are on the same street (Airport
Industrial Rd) in Marietta. Airport Industrial is the street right next to
Jim Ellis VW/Audi of Marietta. I'd check with Check Point Auto first!

There's also a new shop that opened up just off of Jimmy Carter Blvd
called Autobahn Performance. I met the two guys that own the place (they are
brothers and both own modified 5KTQ's), but I was unsure of thier competence.
They have good prices on parts and are very reasonably priced. They also
advertise in the Quattro Quarterly and are a dealer for TAP stuff. But, I have
never personally used them, so I cannot say much about thier work.

       Good Luck!

       Later,
