Re: Popping sound...?
I have the exact same problem as described on my '81 Audi 80 5+5 (4000),
when the engine is cold and full throttle is put on quickly the engine bogs
down and makes a loud popping noise which seems to come from the inlet
manifold. The suggestion about the fuel pump going bad may well be true as
the problem has only been evident since my fuel pump has become very noisy.
Coincidently I just had new injectors put in before hand. The only problem
is here in Australia fuel pumps for my car seem to be rediculously expensive
so i hope it doesn't give up soon.
