fresh air fan - resistor pack

Hi all,

Have a question about the fresh air blower resistor pack in a '88 Q90.
The 4-stage fresh air blower operates only at the highest speed. Someone
had suggested checking the resistor pack. So I got the glove box out.
I think I see the resistor pack. What/where are the resistors in this
pack ?
The picture in the Bentley's is not too informative. I am assuming the
silver plate at the back to the left of the fan is the resistor pack. It 
has four pins sticking out of it and a 4-pin connector.
How do I check the resistor pack ? Is the resistor pack removable ?
If so, how ? There is one screw on the plate and removing it did not
seem to
help. I did not try forcing it.
