No and they cost MUCH more to repair as a result ... my old '91 100 slushie
has racked up over $1,000 worth of repairs from the local dealer and 1) has
never been out of the car! and 2) still makes the same chirping noise on
downshifts.  I've seriously thought about swapping in the 3-speed one from
my wrecked '87 5k and converting the 4-speed into a boat anchor!
Unfortunately, the shifter linkage is different, among other things...
