re: V1 mounting

In my '91 200q I mounted the detector partially behind the rear view mirror
on the passenger side, leaving the rear antenna clear view to the rear. Used
the suction cup mount. Not visible from the rear and from the side kinda
blends in with the mirror, as it does from the front (at a slight distance of
course). Also allows use of both visors, which the clip mount doesn't.

I wired the power converter into the sunroof, with a short wire down to the
detector. I need to rewire it though; power is controlled with the windows
etc. and when the roof is full open, the detector doesn't get sufficient
power. That's easily fixed, though, press the close button very briefly
after opening.

Then, run the other wire under the headliner to the plastic trim strip that
runs across the top of the windshield, and then across to the A pillar.
There's a similar trim strip that can hide the wire on the door opening.

I mounted the remote on the intrument cluster, above the warning lights
*airbag etc.* but to the left a bit, where there are no lights. I attached
it temporarily with a paper clip, which has held for months of spirited
driving. A better approach would be a small screw. HTH
