Re: 5000s to 5000cs
...not to mention economically stupid, considering what you can buy a
5kt fwd for. It's not worth the labor time to do the transplant, let
alone the cost in parts and the motor.
Some friends in Seattle bought an '85 5kt about 8 months ago w/83K miles
for $2K, and they love it. I've driven it, and although it had low
miles and the motor had more power than my old 5ktq w/high miles, I
didn't find the car anywhere near as fun to drive as my old 5ktq (now
Steve B's...is it still dead Steve?) w/175K on it. If a 5000 is your
car of choice, I say spend the money that you would have spent on the
transplant and buy a nice 5ktq...or better yet, buy a 4000q, and do a
10vt swap like I am.
cya!
