UK grille badge

My parents returned today from a 2 week trip to the U.K and Ireland. They
brought me back an Audi badge that mounts on the front grille. It looks like
a shield, with the Audi rings on it with Audi written below it. I've seen
grille badges here in the U.S. many times, but never one like this (well its
box said it was made in England). Are these type of badges common over there?
I know its a dumb question, but just interested. TIA.
