RE: Help with an 88 5KCS



The problem of not turning-over could be couple of things.  First is the
Starter motor - could be completely bad, bad connection to the battery,
or bad solenoid.  Second the motor could be seized - happened to me with
a POS accord. I was trying to crank it over and it wouldn't, then I
notice smoke coming from the starter motor- burning itself up trying to
turn the seized motor.  Testing for a seized motor is easy try turning
the motor by hand with a wrench on the crank pulley or put it in gear
and roll forward watching the pulleys to see if they turn.
