Have you considered purchasing an exhaust from a '91 200q or s4/s6? Seems
that several people have "upgraded" their exhaust and may part with the old
system. As I understand it, the "upgraded cat" used is merely using two
v6-style cats. Lots of flow! Something to consider, anyways; maybe use the
standard kitty x2 from a yard (may not be legal to buy...); as I understand
it, the cat is either good, or bad; not necessarily from miles, mostly from
unburned gas and clogging from lead. A good muffler shop could probably fix
you up if you provided specs or photos etc. of the '91 system; that is,
assuming there's room and that the '91 system is indeed better....
