Radio removal on a 84 4000sQ

I've got an '84 4KsQ, with what I belive is the factory stereo (it says
audidesign on it at least :-)). This model of stereos, like others I've
seen has four holes near the corners of the faceplate that don't look
like they have screws behind them. And I think I've seen a few posts
here on removing stereos via these holes. But I couldn't find something
on an archive search, so I'm asking here:

Can I remove the stereo? Without dissasembling the dash/center console?
How? :-)

The cassette deck in this is pretty shot and I have an aftermarket unit
to replace it. Once I get the stereo out I think I will have no problem
figuring out how to install the new one. I haven't planned to upgrade
the four speakers (yet), is there anything weird or nonstandard about these
stereos that anyone knows?

Thanks for help and advice, I have the Bentley manual, but it doesn't
say anything about the stereo.
