93 S4 LED temperture Controller problems.

My temperature controller has a problem with the LED segments dropping
out,  as I turn up my fan control up.  The LED segments of the auto temp
drop out or blur,  the faster the fan comes on.    -- can't figure out if it's
68 degs or 88.  -- voltage problem to the controller ie: dio or what? Is this
common with this electronic controller. Any Ideas out there?
