My 87 TQ was missing the aux water pump when I bought it. I have no idea how
long it's been missing, but it's one of my priorities to fix.  I've not
driven it too hard (OK sometimes) (OK most of the time) but as Phil said
allow it time to cool.  On hotter days I open the hood/bonnet to allow the
heat to escape.

BTW, is it usual for the coolant to run darker than in non-turbo engines?
 Mine was quite dark so I flushed it and replenished with new.

women get the idea that our cars are more important than them?  I thought it
