Hi Brian,

Well, I did the job with the struts in the car.  Dad was most 
impressed, didn't think it would happen.  I used the pliers 
(16") without WD-40 and didn't have any luck.  Then I used Dad's air 
chisel with a blunt tip and it came right off.  There were several 
small obsticles like trying to get the insert out of the strut, but 
nothing major, and no skinned nuckles :-)  Thanks all.
