Here, here, brother Andrew! I just did this to the CoupeQ last weekend, and even
with the lights misaligned, they still blow the DOT lights away. (Anybody got
the alignment tips for the Euro pattern?) No pumped-up bulb on steriods will
ever correct those crappy original lenses.
The single bulb H4 lights that I got are a drop-in replacement (fits U.S. 80/90 as
well) and were relatively cheap at $350 for the pair. Call Eddie Dalgado at
Wolfsport 800-342-8669; he had the best price by far. Eddie said that he will
even buy back your old lights, but I don't know how much he pays, or who pays
for shipping, so IUD, YMMV. You'll probably want to spend a few extra $ to
rewire the lights with relays, but it is still a reasonable price to pay for the extra
safety.
Now, are the little bulbs for the city lights widely available? P/N?
