No. You got a lemon. I've had six Audis. NONE are/were pieces of crap.
NO Audi after the '70's is.

Just three ideas: 1) Treat it like a dead skunk and unload it on the first

2) Write Audi of America a letter directly (not through your dealer friend)
stating what happened and what you feel is reasonable for them to do. They
should pick up all the tab if it is close to being in warrantee. 3) Find a
used transmission and have an independent shop install it.
Your dealer "friend" doesn't seem like much of a friend if he expects you to
buy a $6k transmission from him!
