Ok, the car is  seven years old and has almost 90 000 miles on it.  Audi is
willing to pop 1/3 of the cost?  And you are not the original owner?  The
deal does not sound so bad to me.  Yes, it sucks that the tranny gave up
the ghost but cars are mado of mechanical bits that will fail, some sooner,
some later.  In this case it was a little sooner than expected, but if the
projected transmission life is around 300-400 thousand km, getting 1/3 from
Audi seems like a decent proposition.  I know it still sucks having the car
break, but NOBODY has yet made a car that will not break.
