As I noted before, I have no experience with other snow tires as I have
always used all season tires. I can't give a subjective comparison, but
living where I live (New England) I have never found the need for studs,
and as you may realize, I have never really had the need for snow tires
with Quattro. 
Other than that, all I can say is that the tires grip much much much
better in all snow conditions than comparable all season tires. If you
want an ice-specific tire, though, friends of mine have always used
blizzaks...
