4kq Synthetic Tranny fluid
Hello again,
I have checked the archives and read info on this before but I
still have some questions. I am considering putting synthetic tranny
fluid in my car as it shifts very hard when cold during the winter up
here. I know most people who do this seem to be very happy. I have also
read some warning about causing leaks by doing this.
Well, my question mainly deals with weight differences. I believe
Redline specifies different weights for the Tranny and the diff's. While
the Blended, syn/dino fluid from MOTUL is the same for both. Why is
this. Do they have to be different or do both manufactures know what they
are doing. Maybe the MOTUL is kind of like a multi-viscosity fluid? I
dont know.
I do want to know if anyone has used the MOTUL or maybe BOTH in
different cars? Any input would be good. Also, if you reccomend the Red
Line instead of the Motul, then where can I get it and what type do I
want. OH, and is it 3 liters for the tranny and 2 for each differential?
OK, I'll quite now.
Thanks much
