speed freaks and slow learners
BELLEVILLE - A driver clocked at 198 kilometres an hour on one of the
province's main highways will be opening his wallet for a hefty fine.
Provincial police pulled over a 1997 Audi on Highway 401 between Napanee and
Belleville Thursday afternoon after clocking it at close to twice the speed
limit.
A short time later, Cobourg police caught the same driver going 159 km-h.
Police say Mehdi Jin, 49, faces more than $1,700 in fines, 12 demerit points
and a 30-day licence suspension.
He is due in a Cobourg traffic court Oct. 15.
