How rare are 89-91 100s with a 5sp?

For some time now, I've been on the lookout for an 89 to 91(preferred)100
with a 5sp - in particular, a wagon. I only recall learning of one 89 sedan
with high milage in Montana.  I would appreciate any info the list members
could provide as to
        1.  how rare are these cars - what years am I most likely to find one?
        2.  personal experiences with any of these cars - one year better
than another, etc
        3.  are there any out there for sale?

I know you're thinking, why don't I just get a Quattro?  Well, for the right
car I would.

Any comments would be appreciated.
