UK v. US parts prices...

I don't know ... judging by the prices I see advertised in VW/Audi magazine,
it looks like you folks usually pay quite a bit *less* for most parts than
we do over here.  There are exceptions, of course -- Carlson Audi sells OEM
Ur-Q tie-rods for about 40% of VAG's UK price, for example -- but overall,
it looks like parts are generally cheaper in the UK.
