Blind 91 200QT timing belt replacement

I'm too imaptient to wait to have my timing belt replaced or for my manuals
to come in so after I read the FAQ about timining belt replacement, I went
ahead and started it.

Suprisingly straightforward and easy so far but I have just a couple of
questions:

How do I disconnect the metal pipe on the inlet side of the intercooler? I
loosened the hose clamp but there's still something holding it on. Is it
easier/possible just to pull it out as a single piece?

I've had an offer for someone to loan me the tool for the crank pulley
(thanks, I should've taken you up on it a couple of days ago, I'd have it
by now). But like I said before, I'm extremely impatient and I'd like to
finish this tonight. So any suggestions on an alternative for removing the
bolt? I think 300 ft/lbs is a stretch for a flat blade screwdriver through
the timing hole against the ring gear. I also had a suggestion for putting
water in the cylinder. Seems like this should work provided the valves and
rings have a good seal?

Please let me know what you think.

Desperate to drive my new Audi...
