Sorry to hear about that... I too hate not having the safety of my car when I travel away. People think I'm crazy.. but if I have to travel and it is 3 hours or less driving time from my house... I drive (rather than fly). Not only does this make sense from a time perspective (i.e. it almost takes 3 hours to drive to the airport, wait, load the plane, take the flight, de-plane, get the rental car....), but I much prefer to be in my Audi (or soon to acquire '87 VW QSW!!) just for the safety factor alone.
I absolutely DREAD getting one of "Ford's finest" from Hertz. Yep, everytime I sit in one of those cheap, cheesy seats with those "whiplash engineered" headrests, I cringe. In response to their ads, yes... I HAVE driven a Ford lately... and.... well, since this is a "family channel", I will refrain from commenting how I REALLY feel... I'll just simply say that I don't like Fords... :-)
