Oil in Intake System

Perhaps, though unlikely.

Is this your first examination of the inside of the hoses?

Even in _very_ healthy engines, these hoses are often (apparently) _very_ 
oily.  Of itself - without other symptoms - oil and/or the waxy residues left 
by oil passage through the system is nothing to worry about.
 
Indeed - some of us worry about excessively dry systems.
