More bypass valve observations...

Perhaps I was a bit hasty with my remarks yesterday as I spent some more
time driving around in my 200q today and noticed that it was somewhat easier
to drive both quickly *and* smoothly.

Previously, when I wanted to pull away quickly from a traffic light, I
always had to slip the clutch slightly on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts to keep the
car from jerking when I lifted off the power momentarily. Now, I don't have
to do this anymore since the car isn't nearly as jerky and the engine
braking effect doesn't seem nearly so pronounced as before ... although I'm
reluctant to attribute it to the bypass valve, I also notice the car seems
to shift a bit more smoothly, too (I suspect this is because it's easier to
match rpms while shifting).

I also noticed that my car's powerband starts dropping off a cliff around
5500rpm and it only got noisier not faster after that ... needless to say,
I'm REALLY beginning to look forward to installing the RS2 I've had on the
shelf for the past 18 months!
