Idle switch sticking?

Jump in car (5kcstq) leaving work, 10 celcius, car starts fine, pop
it in first and stall. What the...? Start it again, idles perfect
and nothing in amiss on the dash, almost stall again and hear
backfires through the IM, crawl (major hesitation/bog and literally
had to let the car idle in gear) to nearest gas station (100 yards
up the road) and pop the bonnet.

My first reaction was that the turbo had seized ($$$), but then why
does it idle so well, so as it idles there warming up I look around
under the bonnet and all looks well (for what that's worth). I kill
the engine and pop the dist just to have a look and it's looking
good too. I get in it and fire it up again and it seems a little
better and off I hesitate, at least I can move off and accelerate,
and boost seems normal, but power is down. About a half mile down
the road as I'm going around a cloverleaf to get on the interstate,
bomf, off I go, everything is back to normal and the next 30 miles
are text book.

I'm going to check the idle switch in the morning, and thought I'd
ask what else to look at.

Arryn.
