RE: Help purchasing '87 4000CSQ
1) odometer doesn't work
Answer: buy a replacement from a yard, or send to an authorized
VDO repair facility. Check the archives.
3) power door locks keep blowing their fuse after a couple days,
but work
otherwise. Any q-listers have this problem?
4) Power mirrors broken.
Answer: The harness in the driver's door to body rubber boot
has chafed through on some wires and broken on other. The chafing is
causing a power lead for the power locks to short and blow its fuse.
Enough mirror wiring is broken that they no longer work...
Enjoy! They're strong car, lots of fun, and reasonably simple
to maintain. The learning curve is there, but it isn't two steep. All
the systems on the 4kq's are fairly straight forward.
