Friend looking for A6q
Hi,
One of my fishing and hunting friends lives at the top of a long steep
gravel drive in the Colorado foothills. Four wheel drive is a near
necessity for winter access to his house. Back when the 4kq was
introduced to the US I suggested he get one. He opted for a Subaru
instead. His wife was driving a Fiat 124 Spyder and used the Suby when
needed. She decided she really needed a Mercyless Benz. Again I
recommended Audi. They bought a Benz and struggled with the winter
driving difficulties. They wore that Benz out and I offered the use of
my 5kcst for a few days to get the feel of an Audi. Another Benz was
purchased, it was apparent Audi didn't convey the image she wanted. Her
present Benz is wore out and she started shopping for a 4-matic, hubby
researched them a bit and decided that was a bad idea. Recently she
travelled to Russia and was escorted on the "not very good roads" in a
quattro. After the Russian experience she wants a quattro. Its hard
to convince some people.
Anyway, my friend has been looking for a 95 or 96 A6q and finds them
hard to find. He has been searching the net as well as local dealers
and has found few. He wants a low mileage unit that hasn't been through
multiple owners or auctions. He's found both of these characteristics
on units he's found. He is willing to travel out of state for a good
A6q.
Are there any items to watch for on A6s that could be a gotcha? If
anyone knows of a good A6q that is for sale he'd like to know where it
is located. I can forward the info to him or he can be contacted at
DLGQ72A@prodigy.com. His name is Frank.
I passed my latest C&D to him while resting after a day of elk hunting
earlier this week. After reading the review on the A6 he said maybe he
should just buy a new one. I encouraged him to seriously consider it.
