Re:Coolant temp sender/82 coupe

Huw Powell requested the location and voltage of the coolant temperature 
sendor for an 82 Coupe...

The temperature sender is by no. 1 spark plug below the power steering 
pump support bracket.

I believe the sensor resistance changes with temperature - mine measures 
75 ohms at normal engine temperature.  With the sensor lead disconnected 
(infinite resistance) the gauge reads full cold.

Your problem may just be a poor contact between the connector and the 
sensor - this happended to me on the UrQ where the sensor provides an 
input to the computer and caused all sorts of problems - it looked clean 
to look at but a resistance check showed a bad contact.
