Brett,

I was just re-reading that copy of EC last night and wondering the same
thing.  The part that caught my eye was that it was a quick and
"relatively" easy way to increase the oil capacity of the engine.

After all, more oil = cooler oil.  Right?

If anyone does have any leads on this, I would be interested in hearing
as well.
