Re: Steering Column Switch

I had the same problem on my ' 87 5KsQ............I checked the replacement
price from Audi...........and almost choked. I called a very good Audi parts
supplier PAP in Georgia. I bought theirs - new - at a big saving over the
Audi price. I called my independent repair shop..........and he quoted me
about an hour or two of labor charges..............I'm not cheap, but
hey......why not try to do it yourself first and if you screw up, well then
the shop gets the car. Guess what..... I had never done this before and it
took me a total of about 10 minutes to complete the installation. Very
simple ! Really the only thing you may need to buy or borrow is the big
socket to remove the nut holding the steering wheel on. If you brought your
car to me I could do it again in 5 minutes................nice mechanic I
have, right? Needless to say I lost alot of faith in that guy. If you need
the phone # to PAP let me know
Sincerely,
Bradley Blumfeldt
