Ignition ECU, fixed!!
Thanks Everybody :-)
The good news:
Andrew Duanne pointed me in the right direction to find the
Ignition ECU in the driver footwell cover that the hood
release cable is screwed to. Found the ECU behind the cover,
pulled the harness and found rusted pins. Not good.
Called ABC and B&D before I found an ECU for $150.-, popped
it in and wallah car runs much better, but still no heat.
The bad news:
Eurosport just lost a customer. I applaude them for finding the
ignition problem. I have a problem with them telling me
the heat can't be fixed till they fix the ECU. I see no
connection with the 2 problems. The fact that the heat still
does not work correctly and the fact that it was broken long
before I went thru the car wash that ruined the ECU disproves
that theory for me. PASS & WEISZ get's a crack at the heat
problem next week.
I have a bigger problem with Eurosport having the mechanic brow
beat my wife and complaining that this is the second time I brought
the car in where they diagnosed a problem and I declined to let
them charge me ludicrous money to fix it. They seem to forget I
paid $200.- plus for them to diagnose..... not to mention 2 day's
of rental. Of which it appears I didn't need the second day because
they decided not to do anything on the second day.......
The mechanic then threw in that the problem was self inflicted.
This actually was good, because I found where the cell phone
installers before I owned the car had mis-aligned a grommet
where the water got in. This was fixed by slicing the grommet
almost in half slipping the wires in, then putting silicon
sealer around it.
After Eurosport abused my wife on the phone I WILL NEVER GO
THERE AGAIN!
Unfortunately Bruce the mechanic whom I trusted to work on the
V8 is now behind the parts counter.
Again thanks everybody for your assitance!
