RE: mystery boxes
Yes, it is possible. I have an aftermarket alarm system on my 5K hooked
to the factory central locking system (but I don't know how the wiring
was made, it was installed by the previous owner). Unfortunately, many
people have annoying habit of trying to open the door before the driver
unlocks the car. The owner's manual clearly states that the system can
be damaged if someone tries to open the door while the pump is
operating, so now my locks often don't work using the remote control,
especially at low outside temperatures (The knobs move a little, but
there seems to be too much resistance for the pump to make them
open/close as they should). They work OK using the key, though.
BTW: does anyone have any idea what exactly breaks if someone tries to
open the door while the pump is working? Is it only a matter of
adjustment, or do the actuators lose their efficiency?
