The center differential is pos. 1 and when locked keeps the front and rear
wheels locked together. The differentials between left and right both front
and rear are still unlocked and fully operational. This position should be
used on any slippery road condition at any speed, not on dry pavement. Pos. 2
should only be engaged when fully stopped as it locks the side to side
differential of the rear wheels. This is useful when stuck in mud, snow, or
ice and are unable to move but is major wear on the drivetrain if used at any
other time.
