very dumb questions

I have two questions for the Q-list, the first is where is the oxygen
sensor?  I thought I could find it once I had the replacement, but no luck.
 The second, is a really dumb question that resulted from looking for the
O2 sensor, how do you change the air filter on the '89 90q?  Do you have to
remove the intake boot and most of the fuel injection?  I can't believe you
do, but upon first look...  Please advise and save me many hours of
frustration on these two items.  Thanks.
