That's because Sprongl was in Shokan's '83 A2 Factory car at Mt.
Washington.  That was the one dat blowed up =).  The year before, when
he won and set the record, he was in his own S2.  He did still wind up
in second this year though.
<< BTW, it was really cool because Frank's clutch in the S2 was pretty
much dead, but they made it work the MacGuyver method.  They poured Coke
and baking soda in the clutch to get it "sticky" and it worked!  They
finished, and finished first!>>

That's a VERY old racer's trick and it does work quite well.

You will probably see my Suburban next to Carl Merrill's camp on the
service stop on Friday night, as they were working feverishly to put a
new turbo in Merrill's car.

Prescott Forest is November 9th on ESPN2 at 10:30PT I believe??  You can
check on Ben Bradley's page at http://www.reed.edu/~bradley for the
times.  I will be running at Tour De Forest in Shelton with Chris Tudor
on the 8th and 9th, but will record Prescott.
