A4 Radio Reception

I love my '97 1.8Tq 5-speed except for the lousy FM reception with the
factory Bose. Lots of crackling when listening to local FM stations.
I have had the original radio replaced once as well as rerouting the main
ground from the fuse box to l/body pillar.
No difference in the rotten reception.
I have been told that A of A is aware of the problem with FM reception but
as far as they are concerned a fix was put in place with the 2nd. generation
Punkts and they have closed the file.
I am running out of CDs.   Help!
