wasted BW but funny??

No chance.  Any excuse to waste a bit more ...
 
Actually, I don't mind things like that.  The empty lines are just CR/LF 
sequences and eat up almost nothing, and I hadn't seen the joke for a few 
years.

What causes my spleen to vent is the copying of an entire LONG email back to 
make a comment, especially where the responder hasn't had the good grace to 
trim the post to highlight the area under discussion.  It's different if 
someone takes a long post and intersperses comments throughout it - THAT I can 
tolerate with equanimity.  If someone takes care putting a reply together it 
never causes offence - at least, not here.

But it's much worse if the comment is a <AOL> me too </AOL>.
