86 5KS no charging

Hallo Liebe Quattro Freunde.
	I know these guys from Bangladesh who just opened a repair shop
	here in Hamtramck (Let's say they have never seen an I-5). I 	have
noticed that they had an 86 5KS in for repairs several 	weeks ago, and
now it is back. I went ahead and asked them what 
	was wrong with it. The owner explained that they have changed 		the
alternator because of a charging problem. The problem 	still persistsIf
the car is being driven for more than 3 hours 		the battery dies. I saw
them struggle with the thing, so I 	thought that I'll ask the list for
help. What should they check; 	what should they look for?

	MJ Murphy, Fred Smith, Thank You for your help RE: harness/belt 		&
lifter noise. I just had to change the oil 
	(weird though that I had to change it after 2.5 K miles, being
		a syntethic). The gauges were normal, BTW.
