You got a great deal! I thought of offering him that - and would have bought
it had I known of the chip upgrade! I never drove it - looked at it in the
rain about 10 days ago. I believe it will be a worthwhile project to fuss with.

I do have an entire 89 up trunk lid. I plan on either using it on mine or
what I buy the wife (she wants an auto). I paid 150.00 for mine incl
shipping. They are reasonably available in many junkyards. Try seeing what
Hemmings Motor News has listed, ask Chris Semple (autobahn01@aol.com, I
believe). There are several Audi junkyards listed in European Car (Mountain
out of Santa Fe, AAA out of Ft. Worth, Dads out of Rancho Cordova, etc.).

Hope it ran well back up there. With the non quattro 5 speed and the chip
upgrade, I'll bet that thing smokes! I would look at getting some Euro
lights for it soon - you'll tire of the US DOT lights. A cheaper alternative
is the 100 euros - about 1/2 the price - thats what I run...

He did tell me he fixed the AC - that V8 sure looks good in 17" rims! I told
him about all the events out in Colorado land (his parents live in
Breckenridge), and he plans on buying a computer much sooner just to join
the quattro list. I also gave him Linda's number for parts...
