Aftermarket ignition?

Has anyone tried to put on an aftermarket coil or ignition box on their
turbos? What might work in place of the stock coil? I was planning on
something and was turned off by all of the wires going to and from the
coil. Better to be safe than sorry with the Audi Gods. What about
MSD,Crane hi-6,etc? I was thinking about the msd, but I saw in a catalogue
that it is for 4,6,8, cylinder cars. Other people told me they will work.
For those of you that have successfully tried them, do they work well in
our cars?
